Stargate Continuum premiere and panel at Comic Con

It’s that time of year again! Once a year, hundreds of thousands of science fiction and fantasy fans invade San Diego California to celebrate the popular arts. This convention gets bigger every year and we had a lot of fun checking out Ben Browder, Chris Judge, Amanda Tapping, Michael Shanks, Martin Wood and Brad Wright on stage for the Stargate panel. This year was made extra special with the premiere of the new Stargate movie “Continuum”. The Portal was well represented by our talented photographers Pkgrl, Helene, Chi27, Musicalgal, and Patti Wells.

A con report has been added the Conventions and Special Events section. Focusing on the Continuum panel and the convention in general, it features lots of pictures from Musicalgal.

A fourth video clip has been added to this year's collection of panel vids. Thanks to RDA, the conversation reverted to the trauma of managing body fuctions in the Arctic. Shanks, Ben, and Chris had no choice but to follow their leader. Our first three clips show the group's introduction on stage, Ben talking about what he's doing these days, and his appreciation for the way the Stargate community has embraced him.

Continuum’s premiere was held on an actual aircraft carrier, the USS Midway. This celebration included a red carpet where LAScaper got a chance to speak with Ben Browder, Chris Judge and Amanda Tapping (Interviews)

The Gallery now has two albums with pictures from Continuum's premiere and of the Stargate SG-1 panel. These new collections have lots of pictures of Ben Browder, Richard Dean Anderson, Chris Judge, Amanda Tapping, Beau Bridges, Michael Shanks, Cliff Simon, and Richard Picardo!

Saturn Awards 2008

The Saturn Awards were held in Universal City and the Portal jirls were there. Interviewing Ben is always a fun conversation, but were were very surprised to find that Francesca Buller and Claudia Black were also in attendance! (link)

Stargate Magazine #23 Ben talks movies, snow angels, and the wonders of pole vaulting

According to Joe Mallozzi's Weblog, it looks like there will be a Stargate SG-1 panel at Comic Con! "No official word on this year’s Comic Con line-up yet, but I hear that there will be both a Stargate: Continuum and Stargate: Atlantis panel. The former should include writer-executive producer Brad Wright, director Martin Wood, and Michael Shanks, Chris Judge, Amanda Tapping, Ben Browder and, if the rumors are true, one Richard Dean Anderson. The latter will be moderated by writer-executive producer Martin Gero and should include Jewel Staite, Bob Picardo, and, in all probability, Joe Flanigan. I, alas, will miss out on this year’s festivities and am, of course, bummed because it means I’ll have to come up with something else to blog about that weekend."

Clip Continuum director, Martin Wood, tells a very funny story about what it was like to work, sleep and share small quarters in the Artic with Richard Dean Anderson.

Clip Features information on how the Air Force and the Navy were both very helpful in the filming of Continuum. Assistance included everything from helpful advice to make the movie technically accurate, granting access to the very expensive equipment, and support with filming in such a very special location.

Creation Releases 2007 Farscape Convention DVD

It’s here! Creation is now offering a DVD of Ben’s performance on stage at the 2007 Burbank Farscape convention. Ben only appears at one or two conventions each year and the Burbank Farscape convention is always a special event. Never the same two years in a row Ben “The Man” Browder has so lots of energy, charming, funny, and spontaneous. The DVD is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes and playable worldwide.
